This instrumental medley of three reels from the British Isles is performed according to typical Celtic tradition. The musicians and dancers start off slowly and progressively get faster. When we perform in a pub, this often turns into a competition to see who can clap or play faster! Fisher's Hornpipe is traditionally played as a sailor's dance, in the USA. it has become a faster reel. Morpeth Rant is a lesser known English reel. Nine Points of Roguery is a true Irish reel, rarely heard in the USA. Henry learned this tune about 20 years ago after hearing Shetland fiddler Aly Bain perform it live with the The Boys of the Lough.
An instrumental featuring Henry the Fiddler.
